Privacy Policy

Aksar (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a Khmer keyboard for iOS and Android. This policy explains what information the app does and does not collect.

What you type stays on your device

Aksar’s typing engine runs entirely on your device. The text you type — including the words you enter and the Khmer output Aksar produces — is processed locally on your phone. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to anything you type. Aksar works without an account and requires no sign-in.

The keyboard does not request “Full Access” for its core typing features. (On iOS, optional key sounds and haptic feedback require Full Access; if you do not enable it, those two features are disabled and nothing else changes.)

Advertising

The Aksar app (the settings screen — not the keyboard itself) displays ads through Google AdMob to keep the app free. AdMob may collect and use a device advertising identifier and limited technical information (such as device type and general region) to show and measure ads. This data is handled by Google under Google’s privacy policy.

  • Ads are shown only in the app’s settings screen, never inside the keyboard.
  • On iOS, you are asked for tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency) before any personalized ad measurement; you may decline.
  • If you leave a tip to support Aksar, ads are removed.

Purchases (tips)

Tips are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your payment details — the stores handle the transaction and tell the app only whether a tip was completed (so ads can be removed). We do not maintain any server or database of supporters.

Children

Aksar is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data we do NOT collect

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location (beyond the coarse region AdMob may infer for ads), keystrokes, messages, or any personal content.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
